Kayla Becwar (b.1994) currently lives and works in Denver, CO. Born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, Becwar acquired her BFA in Extended Media from the University of Arizona in May of 2020. Upon enrollment Kayla was a student in the Fine Art’s painting program at the U of A, but by her second semester had switched into the extended media program as she began to experiment with sculptural and performance mediums.  She has since been included in numerous prestigious exhibitions featuring both 2 and 3-dimensional works, such as Hilliard Gallery’s “13th Annual Contemporary Figurative Show” in Kansas City, MO and “Lost&Found” by 40 West Arts based in her new home, Denver. Working in a variety of mediums, Becwar continues to question and explore imposed standards and norms in western culture, specifically surrounding sexuality and her experience as a woman.
